LGSP-II gives special consideration to ensure women’s participation for all steps, committee formation, scheme selection, scheme supervision and so on. According to Union Parishad Act 2009, 30% members of each Ward Committee (WC) should be women (from community) and 3 WCs will be chaired by UP women members. Safeguard audit report of FY 2013-14 shows that WC of 96% UP has 30% (at least 2 women) women membership. It also gives information that Scheme Supervision Committee (SSC) of 94% UP has 30% women membership. So, the status of women participation has tremendously improved at various committees during the reporting period.
